On the 19th of March the brot.undspiele Gallery in Berlin will hold the opening of an exhibition entitled Dekalog presenting the works of CODEMANIPULATOR.
The works of CODEMANIPULATOR can be described as interdisciplinary realizations in the field of art, architecture and the Internet. In addition there is the interest in the problems of digitalization and (computer-) codes as well as the examination of the influence of the virtual world on the real one. The new project shows some less known facets of his reflections – of a more sociological nature.
The exhibition is created on the basis of tensions that occur around the terms creation, ambivalence and criticism. In case of the work that gave the show it‘s title (Dekalog DE, 2007), the manipulation of code (the artist‘s favourite method) invites to a discussion about responsibility in the process of change. The possibility of interaction interweaved with the project – that is organically connected to the consciousness of the human being in digital age – puts the power to manipulate into the hands of the viewer.
CODEMANIPUALTOR‘S new works show the face of an artist, who plays with the same passions and mechanisms politics, religion, culture and science are working with.
